Our next Peoplework Profile uncovers why Jason Sanchez and the Greater El Paso Association of Realtors®chose to offer dotloop as a member benefit.

Take it away, Jason!

Tell us a bit about your background and the association.
I have been with Greater El Paso Association of Realtors® for over 11 years and am currently the Director of MLS & Technology, responsible for overseeing MLS Operations for our association. My background has been primarily in the Technology field, with 17 years in various positions from Computer & Systems Engineering Support, Networking, System Analyst and Project Management to Development. Our team of three, counting myself, has a wide and varied experience: coming from educational, technical and training to development backgrounds.

In recent years, our association has earned a reputation for being one of the most progressive MLSs in the country. Our MLS department and its MLS Board of Directors take a lot of pride in maintaining that reputation, and we have worked hard to bring great services and solutions to our members.

Walk me through your technology offerings before adding dotloop. What other real estate technology tools have you used or offered throughout your career history in addition to dotloop?
We have developed a wide range of technology solutions for our members during my career, ranging from Websites, Syndication, Marketing, IDX, Statistics, CRM, Property Records and MLS to MLS Data share. We also have a long and very successful tenure with the largest MLS Vendor in Industry.

Are there any specific association strategies/goals/challenges that your association faces that you needed to address?
I think our challenges & goals are similar to those of a lot of other associations. MLSs in general are facing the challenge of remaining relevant, as the industry landscape has evolved into one of competition for consumer traffic. The consumer has a wide variety of web choices when it comes to finding MLS Data and MLSs need to strategically position themselves to compete and be at the center of a consumers home search experience. While facing these challenges, we also need to remember the goal of providing the best services and solutions possible for our members. That’s the only way we’re able to put our members in a position to provide their clients the best consumer experience possible.

What were your reasons for partnering with dotloop?
It’s simple: we chose dotloop for the ease of use and its revolutionary transaction management and collaboration system.

Why and when did you choose dotloop and how does it differ from other real estate technology tools that you’ve offered your members in the past?
We chose dotloop about a year and a half ago, because the system is the pioneer in collaboration. Others have tried to duplicate it but have yet to match what dotloop offers to the real estate transaction.

How did you come across dotloop? What was your role in the selection process?
About four years ago when dotloop was first introduced, I thought it was a system that was ahead of its time. I kept an eye on dotloop and when they developed dotloop-NOW, I realized they were the prime solution to bring to our members. My leadership and I viewed a demo during a NAR Conference and when our MLS Board of Directors evaluated the product, they quickly decided to offer it to our members.

What feedback have you received from your members?
Their feedback has been excellent; our members love being able to collaborate, eSign and store documents all in one system. Plus, they save time completing transactions.

How has dotloop changed the way you or your members work together with others? What is the impact of dotloop on your business?
Our members have embraced the collaborative nature of dotloop and encourage their peers to adopt it in order to close deals faster. Helping our members close deals faster always helps our business become more successful.

Are there any increases in productivity, deals made, new members, etc. that you would attribute to your adoption of dotloop?
We have seen an increase in all of the above from our members. Our members have adopted the peoplework mentality and have been able to close more deals faster with dotloop. Our brokerages have used dotloop as a recruiting tool, which in turn has helped in gaining new members.

What do your members think about using dotloop? How many agents in your association are using dotloop?
They love it. Why wouldn’t an agent want to close deals faster? In less than a year, about 20 percent of our membership has started using dotloop. Considering we provide over 20 products and services that our members pick and choose from, this is a pretty good adoption rate.

How have members responded to using dotloop? Any anecdotes to share?
The most positive thing is that members who use dotloop have been able to save time closing deals and have learned how to become paperless.

Would you recommend dotloop to another association?
Absolutely, because dotloop is the most complete product on the market and your members will thank you for it!

Describe one way that dotloop has surprised you.
dotloop is the only real estate technology company that I have seen that has gained interest from non-industry related National Media for its Revolutionary transaction process.

What is the one thing you love most about dotloop?
Being a part of such a revolutionary product is great, of course, but most of all it’s about the way they do business. This company just “Gets it”!

How do you see the future of real estate evolving? How do you see technology, like dotloop, changing the current buying and selling transaction process for agents and buyers?
I see the industry moving toward a mobile technology landscape, and I think dotloop’s game-changing collaboration system will be at the forefront of the real estate transaction.

What does peoplework mean to you?
Peoplework to me is people collaborating together working to achieve a common goal and vision!

Is there anything else you wanted to tell me that I didn’t ask you about?
I think our industry as a whole is in a state of transition, but pioneering companies like dotloop provide a path of success for the real estate agent of tomorrow!
