Today’s peoplework profile comes from Danielle Boutin, who’s been with the Realtors® Association of the Palm Beaches in West Palm Beach, Florida, for six years. Danielle is currently the Manager of Emerging Technologies, though she’s also worked in the Education Department, Global division and the Communications team.

Danielle answers for us why her association has chosen to provide their members with dotloop, as well as what they’re loving so far.

The stage is yours, Danielle!

Walk me through your technology offerings before adding dotloop. What other real estate technology tools have you used or offered throughout your career history in addition to dotloop? What necessitated a change?

We have never offered a transaction management software before, outside of what is offered by the state. But we are undergoing a role change at the Association – taking over our MLS – which has spurred us to look at additional vendors and expand our offerings at the Association.

Are there any specific strategies/goals/challenges that your Association faces that you needed to address?

Frankly, our members don’t love what is offered to them now for online transaction management. Plus, there were additional fees required for using the eSignature capabilities in that platform. Those factors combined made us want to offer our members options, which is why we looked at dotloop.

What were your reasons for partnering with dotloop?

dotloop is a big name that many of our members already use, know and trust, but perhaps the biggest reason was to offer our members choice.

Why and when did you choose dotloop and how does it differ from other real estate technology tools that you’ve offered your members in the past?

We chose dotloop at the beginning of 2013 to offer our members an alternative to what they have available through the state Association for transaction management. Also, it aligns well with our value proposition at RAPB, which is to offer technology when you want it and people when you don’t (which of course is actually esurance’s line, but it works for us too).

What feedback have you received from your members?

A lot like it, some are still confused and a few have said they feel like dotloop pushes the upgrades a little too much. But all in all it’s been a positive experience so far.

How has dotloop changed the way you or your members work together with others? What is the impact of dotloop on your business?

Not sure enough of our members are using it yet for there to be a real impact, but as more and more do, the impact will be greater.

Would you recommend dotloop to another association? Why or why not?

Yes I would. Support has been wonderful and I think it’s a valuable tool for the members.

Describe one way that dotloop has surprised you.

dotloop has fantastic support – going over and above to call members and make them happy.

What is the one thing you love most about dotloop?

Support and ease of use … OK, that’s two!

How do you see the future of real estate evolving? How do you see technology, like dotloop, changing the current buying and selling transaction process for agents and buyers?

I see more and more banks accepting eSignatures as the norm and that writing contracts will be a thing of the past in a few short years. I see less office space and more mobile agents needing tools like dotloop. I see clients expecting technology and ease of process when going through a transaction.

What does peoplework mean to you?

Make it simple for the end user … for the people.
